On Wednesday January 25, GW Catholics will be hosting “The God Debate” featuring Dr. John Shook of the Center for Inquiry and Fr. Carter Griffin of the Archdiocese of Washington.
According to the event’s Facebook page, Father Griffin “converted to Catholicism while attending Princeton University, and upon graduation in 1994 he served for four years as a surface line officer in the United States Navy before applying to the seminary.”
The atheist, Dr. Shook, “ is Director of Education and Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Inquiry” and “ has authored and edited more than a dozen books, is a co-editor of three philosophy journals, and travels for lectures and debates across the United States and around the world.”
The debaters will be tackling the existence of God among other issues. The event will begin at 7:30pm in the Marvin Center Grand Ballroom.
