Some quick updates from the SA campaign trail so far:
- The Unite GW Super PAC launched recently. It should help make the campaign a bit more humorous.
- Hugo Scheckter has announced his bid for U-At-Large Senate seat. This means everyone walking by Marvin can expect to be showered in free donuts.
- Former Colonial Inauguration staff Will Thompson just announced his campaign for president, but he is already facing an uphill battle. He has no campaign presence yet, and that’s going to have to change if Thompson wants to win as an “outsider.” Thompson will have to rely heavily on his CI connections if he’s going to overcome this.
- In a move that illustrates his campaign’s organizational head start over the rest of the field, John Bennett tweeted that he had already gathered enough signatures to get his name the ballot and already ordered campaign buttons and t-shirts.
- In a video that pokes fun at Rick Perry, Markus Batchelor has announced his candidacy for CCAS Senate. Batchelor, who has already scored some DC political points, is actively courting endorsements from numerous student organizations.
- Frontrunner and current SA Finance Committee Chair John Bennett, has released his second video, this time spoofing Donald Trump:
