Every year, The Patriot hands out some superlatives to showcase some of the winners and losers of this past academic year.
This year, we’re adding reader polls (see below) so you can vote for who you think should win each category. We’ll take the poll vote totals into consideration when we decide who wins each category.
And the nominees (in no particular order) are…
Student Org of The Year
• Sigma Chi for knowing how to win student elections. Dynasty, anyone?
• GW Humans versus Zombies for shamelessly running around a college campus with nerf guns (and thwarting the zombie apocalypse) for fun.
• GW College Democrats for getting their act together and having one of their best programming years in recent memory.
• GW Club Sports for successfully lobbying for trainers. And for exponentially increased public awareness and prestige for the org.
Student Organization Epic Fail of the Year
• Colonials for Clean Air for pushing for an SA ballot initiative to ban smoking within 25 feet of campus buildings.
• MCGB and SA student leaders for losing student space like the fishbowl and Marv 5th floor to offices.

• Ashwin Narla for a strong performance in the runoff.
• Abby Bergren for running a good campaign against a tough opponent.
