Following in the little-lamented footsteps of former Secretary of Defense Don Rumsfeld, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales resigned today. The New York Times charitably referred to the man as “embattled,” which would imply that he wasn’t driven from the field in disgrace months ago. Forgive me if I shed no tears for the man.

…as if that isn’t already the most overused pun of the month. Seriously, though, if Attorney General Alberto Gonzales isn’t gone in two weeks thanks to “attorney-gate,” I’ll be a monkey’s uncle. Even this ridiculous conservative rag agrees with me.
